Josephine M. Guimond, 98, of Stewartville and formerly of Faribault, died Saturday, Oct. 31, at the Stewartville Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 3 at 2 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Faribault with the Rev. David Kohner officiating. Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery, Faribault. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Tuesday, Nov. 2 from noon and 1:45 p.m.

Josephine Mary Carpentier, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Suiess) Carpentier, was born on July 11, 1900, in Lake City. She was united in marriage to Adamore Guimond on Feb. 7, 1921 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Faribault. He preceded her in death on July 1, 1983.

Guimond assisted her husband in owning and operating several businesses, including a bar/restaurant in Meddford, and Guimonds grocery store and meat market in Elysian.

She is survived by three children, Arthur (and Delores) Guimond of Isle; Mary Guimond OBrien of Delano and Joel (and Marcy) Guimond of Deer Park, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Darlene Guimond of Rochester, by 37 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
