Baptized Feb 19, 1854 at the age of two weeks according to the register for St Michael's Catholic Church, Fitzroy Harbour, Ontario (1852-1968) Sponsors were Thomas Fitzgerald and Catherine Fitzgerald.
Peter Died at the age of 51 years of a heart attack while cutting wood in the bush.
Witnesses to the burial were Christopher Tracey and Michael McCann.
Peter migrated from East Aldfield to Range 13 North Onslow.
Lot 10 A,B,C,D was owned by James Shea was granted the southern 3/4 of the western 1/2 of lot 10 in 1862 (lot 10A), and appears in the 1861 census James Shea (1809-) with Mary Shea (1791-), his mother or sister? These are the only records of Sheas living within the NCC boundary of North Onslow at that time.
Shea sold the northern quarter of the lot (10C and 10D) obtained from the estate of John Egan, and the southern 3/4 of the western half by grant, to James McCann Jr in 1866, and James sold the property to his brother Peter McCann in 1883, 125 acres in all. Peter McCann (1854-1906) & Catherine Hickey (1857-1942) had family Mary (Lawrence Tracey) (1886- 1975), Patrick (1888-), Catherine (John Foran) (1880-1971), Margaret (Joseph William Hearn( Ambrose Hearn) (1894-1957) and Joseph Stephen (1895-1975). In 1953 the three surviving sisters ( Mary, Catherine and Margaret ) transferred ownership to the youngest bachelor brother Joseph Stephen McCann, who sold to the FDC in 1954.
