Biographie Tracey Thomas-Joseph

Thomas Joseph Tracey, born April 11, 1911 married the girl next door (Ida May Gibbons) in 1942.  Together they had eight children and worked their 200 acre farm looking after cows, horses, pigs, chickens and sheep.  His world changed forever with the loss of his wife in 1957.  He found himself alone with seven children under the age of 12.  With the love and support of family and neighbours he found the strength to carry on and he continued farming until he was in his late 70's.  He always insisted that anyone who visited or lent a helping hand was well fed before they left.  He loved to dance and was part of a band in the 1950's and 1960's.  He was sought after to be the caller for many a square dance and enjoyed a drink of rum.  He was proud of his family and looked forward to celebrating his birthday with all of them every year.
