Death Of Elderly Man Ruled Suicide

An 86 year old Lewiston man was found dead at his home late Monday afternoon and County Medical Examiner M.F.S. Greene, M.D. ruled that death was by suicide.

Alfred Frechette of 75 Elm St., was found hanging from a closet door in the bedroom by Mrs. Claudette Robichaud, his niece, with whom Mr. Frechette lived.

Mrs. Robichaud's father-in-law and mother-in-law, notified her that they had not heard the victim walking around the apartment. They live on the second floor.

Capt. Laurier Morin said that he was told the victim had been despondent and he was being treated by Dr. Michael Harkins for heart trouble.
