John and Ann were married on Dec 28th 1828, civil wedding because Ann was a protestant. She made her declaration of principles on July 15th, 1832 in Tracadie. Then they were married at the Catholic Church of Inkerman, August 26th, 1837. Witness: Valentin Gibbs & Mrs.,* (m.John Kenny & Ann Drysdal). From- de Ireland(Arthur Drysdale). Note: Isabelle Arseneault is the wife of Valentin Volontaire Gibbs ( born Kilkenny, Ireland ca 1787 )Marriage: 15 Jan 1827 in Inkerman, GL, New Brunswick, Canada.

According to oral history, John Kenny and a least two brothers, arrived from Ireland in 1825 during the Great Fire of Miramichi ( 7 Oct 1825 ). At there arriving, they had to stay offshore, on the boat, for several days because of the fire and the smoke. They where leaving Ireland during a potato famine. Though "The Great Potato Famine" from 1845 to 1850 was the most devastating one in the history of Ireland, it seems that there was 14 other ones during 1816 and 1842. We don't know where in Ireland John and his two brothers came from. John settled in the location where is now Tracadie's church. He had at least 4 children, John(ii) b.15 sept 1834 , Patrick William b.6 Mar 1830, Michael b.11 Oct 1839, bapt.11 Jan 1840,and Andrew (or Annie? -not sure) b.7 Feb 1842. It's seem that one of John's brothers settled in the area of Neguac - Newcastle and the other one in the area between Newcastle and Bathurst.

Albert Kenny, son of James, married Brigitte LeBreton in 1913 South of # 11(now the 150), Lot # 68, and 71 acres. Tom Kenny, son of James Jr.(Anne Theriault) who married Martina Mazerolle in 1915, South of # 11(now the 150) lot # 67 and 60 acres. possibly a piece had been sold.

[Property notes] Source; Parish St-Martyrs Canadiens Pont-Landry, NB by; Jacques A.Duguay. The home of James Kenny and Margaret Hammond on Lot # 68 in Six Roads. Constructed about 1866. (Personal note, the first Kenny died in 1866) In 1847, John Butler had cleared about 3 acres and built a camp on Lot # 68. (On March6, 1848, James Davidson, surveyor, surveyed this area for all those who wanted it done. Michael Cahill and John Butler are living in their respective lots. The amount of this research was set at 2 pounds, 15 shillings each). In 1851, the owner of Lot # 68 was John Kenny (ancient land of John Butler). At the 1861 census, on lot # 68 was John Kenny, farmer, he is the ancestor of all the Kenny of the region. (It's neighbor William Lebreton at lot # 70)
