Noted Resident of Hull, Passes - Damien Caron, head of a prominent Hull political family, which has sent two of its members to the Quebec Legislative Assembly, died yesterday in a local hospital after a short illness. One son, François Caron, was formerly senior Crown attorney for the judicial district of Hull. Mr. Caron himself was a pioneer resident of Hull and the proprietor of Caron Brothers, which he founded 40 years ago. He was also a well-known member of Hull service clubs. Born in St. Barthélémie, Québec 81 years ago, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Caron. Coming to Hull in 1876 with his family he was one of the first settlers in the district. He was a member of the Rotary Clud of Hull, the Chamber of Commerce and was formely a Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. In addition to his many activities he was a leading figure in the dramatic organizations of Hull. In 1895 he married the former Elise Trudel, a member of one of Hull's foremost families. She predeceased him in 1937. He is survived by five sons, Alexis of Hull, a former MLA for the county of Hull, François of Hull, former Crown attorney of the Hull district and Gaston, Bernard, André all of Montreal; five daughters Mrs. Alexandre Dupont of Montreal, Mrs Lionel Robert, of Ottawa, and Mrs Victor Lupien, Mrs Louis M Roy and Miss Raymonde Caron all of Hull; a brother, Joseph of Hull, former MLA of Hull; a sister Miss Marie Louise Caron of Hull. Requiem high mass will be chanted in Notre Dame de Grâce church, Hull, Monday morning at 8 o'clock. Burial will be in Notre Dame cemetery, Hull.
