He was born at St Frederick, Canada the son of Belloni and Adelaide (Pare) Labbe; h/o Alphonsine Grenier, and in 1940 they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary..
He was the last of a family of thirteen children.
He was a resident of Lewiston, ME for 39 years.
H was an ardent fight fan following his more famous son Paul "Junior" through the Main champ's boxing career. Mr Labbe was also a boxer having fought about 30 professional fights under the name of "Battling Archie". Sixty-three years ago he went three rounds with John L Sullivan in an exhibition bout in New Hampshire when Sullivan was training for one of his important fights.
He is survived by his wife Alphonsine; four daughters Mrs Edward Laroch of Lisbon, ME; Mrs Leo Palaroy and Mrs Elzear Faucher of Lewiston, ME; Mrs rose Winter of Auburn, ME; ten sons Willie of Manchester, NH; Thomas of St Frederick, Canada; Joseph and Linier "Jack" of Auburn, ME; Antonio of Dorchester, MA; Roland, Arthur, Paul, Philippe and Dominique of Lewiston, ME.
