COUTURE, Marie Lorette

Anchorage resident Marie Lorette Couture, 83, died at home Saturday (March 28, 1998), after a long illness. A memorial Mass was be celebrated at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 2901 E. Huffman Road, Anchorage. The Rev. Scott Medlock officiated. Burial will be at a later date at Fort Richardson National Cemetery. She was born in Chisholm, Maine, on Aug. 18, 1914, and lived in Hartford, Maine, and Manchester, Conn., and Homestead, FL. She moved to Anchorage in 1993. Mrs. Couture was married to Joseph E. Couture in 1933. She attended St. Ann Catholic Parochial School in Hartford and upon graduation she first obtained employment with Underwood Typewriter Co. She went on to work at Hart & Heggeman Electric Co. and eventually found employment with The Travelers Insurance Co., from which she retired in 1975. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Anchorage. ''Marie was also known as Lorette by her family and friends. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed,`` said her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph C. and Marie Boucher, and son Donald J. She is survived by her husband, Joseph E. of Anchorage; son, Gregory A. of Anchorage; siblings, Ann, Jeanette Berube, Lorainne Orifice, Norma Griffing, Candide Rozman, Yolanda Jones, Gloria Manter and Wildy O. Boucher, all of Connecticut; six grandchildren; and two great-granchildren. Memorial donations may be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2901 E. Huffman Road, Anchorage 99516, or Alzheimer's Association Alaska Chapter, 240 E. Tudor Road, Suite 110, Anchorage 99503. Arrangements were handled by Kehl's Forest Lawn Mortuary & Crematory.
