Biographie Thompson John-Kenneth

John Thompson

LOUDON-John Thompson, 87,
died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at
his home following a long illness.

He was born May 1, 1919, in
Manchester, the son of John Charles
and Agnes (Derome) Thompson. He
was a former student of West High
School in Manchester.

John served in the U.S. Navy during
World War II in the construction battalion division from June 1941 to
September 1943 and was awarded three medals. He worked for many
years at the MKM Hosery Co. in Manchester. He retired from the American
Celanese Co., a parent company of Foster Grant Co., after 25 years of
service in 1986. John moved to Loudon in 1989 and was a member of St.
Joseph's Church. John loved golfing and fishing. He enjoyed woodworking
and worked at the Shaker Village gift shop. John enjoyed spending time
with his family.

He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Thompson; one sister,
Winnifred Thompson; his son-in-law, Bill Godzyk, and a great-
granddaughter, Kiley Thompson.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Doris (Garant) Thompson ofLoudon;
his son, Kenneth Thompson, and his wife, Nancy, of San Antonio,
Fla.; his daughter, Lee Godzyk of Loudon; his sister Doris Lambert, and her
husband, Thomas, of Manchester; three grandchildren, David Thompson
and his wife, Paige, of Laconia, Dennis Thompson and his wife, Karen, of
Berwick, Maine, and Leslie Thompson of Peru, Vt.; and his great-
grandchildren Nicholas and Kaylin Thompson, of Berwick, Maine and Ryan
Thompson of Laconia.
