Biographie Choquet Irene
Irene Choquette Pelletier, formerly of Hardwick and Jefferson and Lancaster, N.H., died Thursday, Dec. 18, at her winter home in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Born in Roxton Pond, PQ, Canada, Irene Choquette Pelletier and family came to the United States to live and settled first in Hardwick where she and her 13 brothers and sisters grew up.
Later, Irene Choquette Pelletier married Andrew Pelletier and lived most of her adult life in Jefferson and Lancaster, N.H., where their children were raised.
Known to many, Irene was a seamstress and a gardener. She ran a vegetable stand and was a farmer for years as well as a 4-H Club leader, a choir member and a Daughters of Isabella member, as well as a Communicant at the All Saints Catholic Church in Lancaster, N.H., and at the Saint Agnes Catholic Church in Jefferson, N.H. She was ever kind to all who knew her. She is now in Heaven where she suffers no more. Having died of cancer at her winter home in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., she is now at peace with her God.
Irene Choquette Pelletier was predeceased by her spouse Andrew and her oldest son Lionel Ernest.
She is survived by her daughter Doris Pelletier Derr and her spouse Jim of Saint Thomas, USVI & Aiken, S.C.; daughter-in-law Elena Pelletier of El Paso, Texas, (Lionel's widow); her other sons, Norman and his spouse Elisabeth of Bethlehem, N.H., and Henri Pelletier of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; her grandchildren, (Lionel's children), Stephen Michael Sr. and his spouse Nancy, of Gilman; her great-grandchildren Crystal, Daniel and Stephen Michael Pelletier, Jr.; and also by her great-great-grandson Keaton Allen of Pennsylvania. Lionel's other children include: Yvette Pelletier Gonzalez and spouse Robert, and Ernest and Andrew Pelletier.
She is also survived by her son Norman Pelletier's children, Nicole Pelletier Larsen and spouse Ron, Casey Pelletier and fiancee Andrew; nephew Michael Choquetter, whom she raised; Julian Fournier, whom she also helped raise; Julian's children, Phillip, Jeannette, Elizabeth and Edward Fournier; close friends Georgette Guillette Hooper, John Mone and Doreen Mone Palucci; and by her many other dear friends.
In the Choquette family, she was predeceased by her good dad Ernest; mom Delphine; brothers Lionel, at age 12, Roger, Conrad, Marcel and Gerard; sisters Gertrude, and Yvette.
Irene is survived by her sisters Lucille, Theresa and Clairette; her brothers Maurice, John Paul and Roland; and literally by hundreds of nephews and nieces in both the Choquette and Pelletier families.
The funeral mass will be said at the All Saints Catholic Church in Lancaster, N.H., at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Dec. 27. Interment will follow in the spring when the weather permits burial.
