Cyprien M. Proulx, 84, Dies Late Monday in Mercy Gen Hospital

Cyprien M Proulx, 84 of 31 Water St a Tupper Lake resident for nearly 60 years died at 11:45 pm Monday at Mercy General Hospital. Mr Proulx suffered from a fracture of the left leg just below the hip in a fall from a platform in the shed of his home on April 25 and underwent an operation the following day. Funeral services were held at 9 am today at Holy Name Church and burial was at Holy Name Cemetery here. He was born in Cheneville Que, Jan 6 1872 the son of Cyprien and Julie Bedore Proulx on Nov 3 1897 he married Miss Antonitte Mallette at Cheneville and they had since made their home here. Mr Proulx had worked on logging jobs in the Tupper areas since the early 1890s and was employed by the Santa Clara Lumber Co. the Moynehan and Elliot Interests and tbe the Oval Wood Dish Corporation prior to his retirement about 8 years ago. Surviving besides his wife are one son, Rene Proulx, Marcy and five daughters. Mrs Lawrence (Eva) Churco, Mra Loren (Valeda) Burke and Mrs Priscilla Demars all of Tupper Lake and Mrs Harold (Jacquline) Blair and Mrs Yvonne Cumming both of Arlington, VT; 26 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren.
