Biographie Proulx Rolland-Daniel

TUPPER LAKE — Rolland "Tapsy" Proulx, 83, Tupper Lake, died Wednesday at Tupper Lake. Mr. Proulx worked for many years at Benson Mines in Star Lake, retiring because of ill health in 1978. He also worked for W.C. Johnson & Sons and most recently had worked for the Adirondack Regional Credit Union.

Born March 10, 1925, at Tupper Lake, son of Ephram and Clarina LeFebvre Proulx, he married Doris Garrett on May 28, 1949, in Plattsburgh. She died in 2007.

He was a fourth-degree knight with the Knights of Columbus and was an avid New York Yankees fan.

Surviving are a son and his wife, Thomas and Connie, Tupper Lake; a daughter and her husband, Cathy and Marc Staves, Tupper Lake, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Three sons, Rolland Jr., Cordell and Steven, and 13 siblings died before him.

A funeral Mass will be said at noon Saturday at St. Alphonsus Church. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral Home. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
