  Migration: 1754-1774

Jean and Honoré (whose wife, Isabelle Bujold – married in 1754 – and children (Claire-Gabrielle and Jean-Baptiste) had died during the crossing) were the only two surviving members of their family to arrive in France. (NOTE by S.A.Theriault: In fact, there were three survivors. Anastasie (6260), their older sister was located in Belle Isle en Mer, Bretagne, in 1763. Her descendants continue to reside in France to this day.)

Jean stayed in France for 14 years. Between 1759 and 1769, Jean was employed by the Baron Le Blanc of Lyon (ref. Marcel Thériault on < l’exil du grand-père Jean Terriot >, St-Jacques de Montcalm, QC, 13 Jan. 1936). On 1 Oct. 1769, Jean married the baron’s daughter, Marie Magdeline Charlotte, and then settled in Pleudihen in Brittany (ref. No. 271 du recenssement de Saint-Malo, dépot 22, liasse 124, aux Archives départementales de la Vienne à Poitiers). Their children were Marie-Charlotte (born in 1770 and lived about one year), Jean-Marie (born in Pleudihen in 1772), Charles and François.Marie Magdeline Charlotte’s signature reads “marie magdeline charlotte baron”.

Jean obtained a passport on 20 Oct. 1769, but only returned to North-America 5 years later. His sister Marie (Jean Daigre) settled in Saint-Jacques de l’Achigan (between Montréal and Trois-Rivières, QC) that year (deported to New-York in 1755, she was one of the 12 Acadian families to arrive in L’Assomption in 1766). Sulpicien fathers were providing lots to deported Acadian families. She obtained from them one lot for each Jean and Honoré. Jean settled there in August 1774 with his family. Honoré also settled in St-Jacques. He had remarried in France in 1760 to Marie Fouquet and had 2 children in Pleudihen (Pierre, M. Mathurine) and 4 in Saint-Jacques de l’Achigan (Marie-Françoise, Marie-Madeleine, Marie-Pierre, Anne).
 

Jean married Magdeline Charlotte LeBlanc de Prébois [6278] 253,425 [MRIN: 2561], daughter of Baron Benoît [6810] and Marie Beaufranchest du Genestoux [6811], on 1 Oct 1769 in Cherbourg, , Manche, France 253.,425 Magdeline was born circa 1754 in , , , France and died on 19 Dec 1812 in St Jacques L'achigan (Montcalm), Québec, Canada at age 58. Other names for Magdeline were M.Magdeline Charlotte Baron and M.Charlotte Magdeline Baron-Leclerc.
