SOUTH BEND - Services for Marvin M. Hickey, 86, of 1030 N. Eddy St., who died at 5:58 Wednesday in St. Joseph Medical Center, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in Hickey Funeral Home, where the parish rosary will be said at 4:30 p.m.

He Hickey was employed as a carpenter by Thomas L. Hickey Construction Co. for many years and was a former employee of Indian and Michigan Power Company. He was born July 4, 1902, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.

On June 10, 1930, in South Bend, he married Katherine Kochendofer, who survives. Also surviving are a son James E. of Buchanan; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. For 41 years he was know as “Santa Claus” on the east side. He was a member of the church and Local 413 of the Carpenters Union and was past president of the Holy Name Society
