Martha Marie Petrin, 88, of Twistback Road in Claremont, NH died on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.
She was born in Kamouraska, PQ Canada on December 17, 1924 the daughter of Ernest and Emilie (Raymond) Michaud and has resided in Claremont since 1949.
Martha retired in 1988 from the Claremont Woven Label Company where she worked as a weaver for 35 years. She was a communicant of St Mary Church, a member of the St Anne Society, the AARP and the Senior Citizens. She enjoyed doing ceramics and also was a volunteer worker at St Mary Church and also provided rides to people that needed to go to doctor’s appointments and loved to travel.
Her surviving family includes her husband, Henry Mark Petrin of Claremont whom she married on Sept. 1, 1962; five sisters, Regine Leveque of Kamouraska, PQ Canada, Marguerite Berube of Abitibi, PQ Canada, Jeannine Berube, Madeleine Michaud and Carmen Dionne all of St Pascal, PQ Canada; three brothers, Roland Michaud, Raymond Michaud and Rene Michaud all of St Pascal, PQ Canada and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is predeceased by five brothers, Willie Michaud, Baptiste Michaud, George Michaud, Paul Michaud and Charles Eugene Michaud.
Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Wednesday, February 20th from 6 to 8PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St Mary Church on Thursday, February 21st at 11AM with Rev. Father Shawn Therrien, officiating.
Burial will follow in St Mary Cemetery.
