Paddy bought the store on Mine road now called Lac des Loups road from Jimmy Gibbons (James)
Jimmy had purchased it in 1924 from the original owner who had built it during WW1. I remember going down there with Dad in the evening to buy a few things like sugar, coal oil for the lantern, work pants. rubbers etc and then you would sit down for a chat. Paddy would have a lot of news from people dropping in throughout the day. Joe Madden and Copeland Alexander would be sitting on an old wooden bench beside the coke cooler, John McBane and Gervais O'Riely would be sitting on old wooden coke boxes on there end, plus others.
